Any new Dark themes released for ShapeShifter? I simply cannot stand the themes that flood the arena which are all pretty much the standard Mac theme with only the buttons colored. Give me a dark theme with color any day. Like JetBlack, DSX etc Peace out. . .

I think a bunch of us are waiting on 'Cathode'. I've gotten a whole lot of use out of UnityGK though - that is, until stomp came out today.

I never understood why theme developers dangle screenshots in front of our salivating faces, all while saying "ah ah ah.. not released yet". I'd prefer they keep it hush hush until its ready for public use - like Max Rudberg does.

Just my 2 cents, though.

Many of them get bored/frustrated/etc. Dark themes are more difficult because of all the little issues as well as quite a few apps "breaking" them by using coded colours for buttons, glyphs for buttons, etc etc.

Absolutely.

I also think a difficulty in dark themes is the basic usability. They look good but a dark theme is harder to use for long durations for most people, hence the success of muted themes such as Niqu.

Agreed. THe dark themes look great when everything is dark - but load up a webpage with a striking white background, a word document, textedit, etc... and the contrast of the white against the darker environment can be quite jarring.

Yeah,
I totally have the utmost respect for those themers who create fantastic dark themes like UNITY-GK, JetBlack, DSX The work involved is quite challenging. Personally, I find the lighter themes to be hard on the eyes. All that brightness all the time is like looking into an oncoming cars headlights when they have their high beams on . Like MILK and SuperWhite. Dam boy !!! Somebody pass me a pair of shades before my corneas vaporize . My choice overall is DSX by Takashi Izawa. I dig that he includes 4 color variations. He's an impressive themer. Not sure why he hasn't come out with any new dark w/color infused themes cause he's got it down in my book. Dreaming of dark and color :

Please change your signature to comply with our current signature rules, which give you two options:

1) an image (200x50px max, 10KB max, non-animated) and up to one line of text, OR

2) no image, and up to four lines of text.

In either case, blank lines do count, and lines must be of reasonable length so they don't wrap on most screens.

Thanks for taking care of it promptly,

tooki
