It doesn't matter, mine's probably long taken anyway.

I was talking to a friend of mine who "promised" me (yeah, right) a Gmail account. I told him that without "starman" it's pretty pointless. I already went through the whole "let's see what appendix I have to put on this nickname to make it half-way decent" phase with Comcast and I don't want to do it again.

clayshaker isn't good enough for you?

Gmail isn't that big deal though... It's just 1GB and search tool that made it attractive.

I like how it seems to continuously check for new e-mail. I don't know of any other web mail that does that, though maybe Hotmail does nowadays? Haven't used my Hotmail account in a while. The labeling system seems nicer than folders, and the conversation view is great. Those features might be worth more to me than the storage and search.

Thanks again Peter! I'll be sure to distribute any invites I may get to folks on here, to return the favor.

They claim that the 6+ requirement will deter spammers, my company does sort of the same thing. There are only about 1.7 million 4-character addresses possible (just using alphanumerics), and they're likely to be used, but there are nearly 2.2 billion 6-character addresses and the longer they get the less likely they are used.

For all practical purposes, it is. I'm not sending myself DVDs via e-mail. That's what BT is for.

It's sort of from the Simpsons.

Homer: you could change your name to Homer Jr. the kids could call you HOJU.

Bart: I don't think so dad.

My name's Ryan, I just felt I'd add a Jr. to it = RYJU

I thought it sounded Japanese.
There are many young rightwing members on these forums proud to support Bush no matter what. If Bush is re-elected I'd like to see the look on these member's faces when they are drafted. Now watch this drive.

I would certainly not turn down a free gmail account, but is it really that great ?
The storage size is certainly cool, but what about them reading through all of your messages, in order to serve you specific advertising based upon what you write ?

I'm not sure if that's cool.
