Helping a friend who just got an old beige, desktop G3. She's been using an ancient version of Netscape, and I want to set her up with a better browser. It seems that Mozilla no longer develops for OS9. What's my best choice? Is she stuck with IE?

iCab works pretty well, but I really like Mozilla 1.2.1 for OS 9. It's way faster than IE (which is still an okay browser for OS 9) and it has tabbed browsing.

Get Mozilla 1.2.1 here:

The main mozilla organization has stopped with OS9 development but not everyone.

I'm using 1.3.1 (not 1.2.1) from here http://wamcom.org/20030624/macos9/

With iCab you have more features under Mac OS 9 that with e.g. Safari under Mac OS X.

FYI, the version of WaMCom linked to is not the latest now. To find the newest one, start at the main page: http://wamcom.org
