ebuddy: you are shifting the target. I'm not debating whether or not Obama has met expectations. Nor am I interested in trying to quantify or qualify how thoughtful Obama is using subjective measures.
But like I said, if you want to go on about Obama eating microphones and not bowing to the queen or King of Saudi Arabia properly, go for it. I'm just trying to help all you guys because I love.

Where was this agreement and the "can't we all just get along" for the past 8 years?

Because Bush wasn't eloquent. I think I explained the distinction in my earlier post.

Let me get this straight:
1) You start this thread, called "The epic pictoral Obama fail thread."
2) People post Fail pics
3) You rant and rave against those pics.
WTF is wrong with you

And neither is Obama, off his teleprompter, which we have all explained in our earlier posts.

As I said before, how does this make you any better than the Democracks you are supposedly at ends with?
They act like a$$holes for 8 years and your pithy comeback is to act the same way?
I think everybody needs a healthy dose of 'getting over themselves.'

No the distinction was the nature of the "gaffe," and whether/how it reinforces perception. Your "gaffes" actually reinforce Obama supporters' positive perceptions of him, and do nothing to advance a serious critique of Obama's worldview. See my earlier post for details.

Check out candidate Obama's highly suspicious Crow Indian hand-raise, mimicking the statue in the background. Is he secretly pledging solidarity with the Apsáalooke?

I'm cool with the longbowman, my wife invited me to join her having sex with him. That's a spicy meatball!!
I've been thinking about a worthy caption for your pic... It's a little tough. It looks like he either thinks he's holding an invisible plate, or is letting one go. I'm going to go with a saucer for tea, so how about :
"ahhh... that's better! A cup of tea governor?"
I know, it's pretty brilliant.

Hey Laminar,
Since you keep posting similar comments about me it sounds like there is a bit of a disconnect here. For your benefit, I'll try to make things clearer...
I don't care whether I'm funny or not. I don't care whether you or anybody else thinks I'm funny. This place is my play place, I do what I feel like doing (within the rules) for my own benefit. The question you should be asking yourself is not why I'm so unfunny, but why you aren't doing a better job of entertaining me?

For someone that aligns him/herself with the political party that claims to care about people, your posting sure is selfish.

No, that's a policy disagreement. Do you perhaps have a picture of Obama choking on some kind of Korean street food that would be analogous to a pretzel?
*Technically, as observed in the failure of their latest test, the missile in question has not yet been demonstrated as capable of hitting Hawaii or Alaska.

Also, don't we already have plenty of missiles at this point? Does N Korea launching one missile really warrant a buildup?

In addition to deterring attacks on the United States, our nuclear umbrella over Japan and other allies serves to reduce their incentive to go nuclear themselves. Arguably, the U.S. could maintain only a few hundred nuclear weapons as a successful deterrent against direct attack (similar to China's current posture). At the same time, some argue that wouldn't be enough to convince Japan and our other allies that we would use our limited nuclear stockpile to respond to nuclear attacks against them.
It's a balancing act, and there are many routes to reassuring our allies. However, the cuts that the Obama administration will seek (which would depend on Russia's own commitments) are not that revolutionary.

The fissionable material will not noticeably degrade for decades, but other materials (rubbers, metals, etc.) in the warhead itself and also in the delivery vehicle do degrade over time, just like anything else. There's also some question about the long-term reliability of the conventional explosives used to initiate fission. The RRW project is an attempt underway to make the stockpile easier to maintain.

That's another leap.
I never said that I don't care about "affecting" others, I choose not to willingly offend people and make a reasonable effort not to do so, but your being affected by bad jokes is not really something I choose to concern myself with. If you find them this irritating that you wish to make this much of an issue over them, you should ask yourself why? Because you prefer to be around cool people that make good jokes? You think it is practical to forcefully raise issue with any source of irritant on MacNN or forums in general? You had some sort of traumatic experience with bad jokes?
This forum is what it is including all of the personalities and what they bring to it. Deal with it, and don't make your problems mine.
