Hey folks, hoping to get some insight on the following. I have an old MacBook Pro that has all components but does not have the motherboard. Is there a way in which I could stick a non-Mac/MacBook motherboard (I would run XP) in there and make it work? I don't know very much about this type of thing, but I know at least there would have to be adapter cables/parts for the keyboard, mouse, etc? I would like to use all the original parts. Any assistance on this would be much appreciated. Thanks

The problem is making the motherboard fit physically. Laptop motherboards are specific shapes to fit in the case, and you can't fit another board and expect to be able to close the case.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

The short answer is no.

The drives use standard connectors, and you you can bypass things like the keyboard connector using USB externals but the LCD and backlight connections are often proprietary. And then there is the temp sensors, ALS and various other sundries.

The long answer is also no.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....
