Some good news for those of us who use Director for a living.
Apple has it on their front page orhere
Does anyone know if the older casts and scripts need to be done over or will Director MX just import them and voila it just automagically works in OS X?

I spoke with MM today, they are not offering an upgrade path for any version other than 8. Too bad.

Sales rep said to upgrade to 8.5 then to MX and it will save some $$.

Well, I know some people will be happy, but many kiosks have gone full web active... Director is great for some things, but people are now spending Director development $$$ on web content...

Thanks MM. I was getting a bit concerned especially since Apple will have on classic mode Macs next year.

I think if you upgrade to 8.5 now, you will be eligable to receive Director MX for free - this is for a limited time I think.

DirectorMX, according to MacWorld Magazaine, does not have a native runtime for OSX!!!

Yes You heard right, here is the quote: "Playback of Director-created material still requires the Classic environment."

Well I am sure they will have a Player for OS X very soon, or else this is kind of pointless.
