I know it can be done, but I'm not sure which model(s) of Alpine headunit supports iPod interfacing. Please help.

Just had an Alpine CDA-9813 installed, and have a mini-plug extension for iPod plug in and playback as auxiliary source. Works great! I think the 9807 works as well, and probably lots of others. try your fave auto stereo installer, and http://www.alpine-usa.com.

I think he's referring to the Alpine-iPod Ai-net interface. This product is planned to be released in summer 2004. I'm not sure about with which headunits it will work.

The Alpine iPod interface box is designed to work with certain new models of Alpine headunits. Not sure if any are available just yet.

So the Alpine iPod interface that allows the iPod to be controlled via the head unit is a separate device - not part of the head unit? I was under the impression that they were going to release new head units that featured iPod control.

hmmm, answered my own question: article it is a box that connects the iPod to a head unit. Surly only compatible head units will work. It says it will be out this summer in the UK, but no word of a US release date.
