I have an Airport Extreme which displays a really annoying welcome message any time I connect to it. Of course it's been this way for ages, but I mainly used it for a linux NAS and my iphone so never quite figured out how annoying it would be.

Well now I also use it for my desktop and it's driving me mad. But with the Airport admin tool I can't find any place to get rid of it. Any idea if it's possible without resetting the device?

I've configured dozens of Airport boxes, And I've never seen this, either.

I'll post a screen shot when I get home. I do remember the wizard asked me if I want a welcome message when I first configured the network. Of course since then I've updated the base station once or twice, maybe they understood how annoying the feature was and removed it from the gui.

edit: finally found something about the message from google...

edit2: Seems it's mentioned in the manual too, maybe I just did not look deep enough...

Looks like you found your own answer. I've never seen anyone implement that-it's more work and most people treat their own AEBS like their own without seeing a need for any sort of "welcome" that would be useless to them. I might do that to a guest network, but not one I used all the time.
