besides THAT one (nudge nudge wink wink) that everyone knows about already...

i am driven to homicidal urges when i see a post that states what has already been stated previously in the thread and by someone else!!!!

it is as if some peeps think that they are too good to have to read the thread and/or they think their answer (while it is completely the same content as was previously posted by someone else) is better than others OR even worse, they are just too lazy to read ...

horse pucky!!! do not do this silly junk, it makes you look really bad! unless of course it is an honest mistake... happens that way sometiimes i am sure, but i just saw two different and SHORT threads where there is no excuse whatever to not read and comprehend that the answer has been given!

posted opinions are a different matter altogether, opinions vary even though they may be/are on the same subject and may have similar content...

and it has occurred to me that perhaps my non-use of caps could be annoying to some... well lemme tellya, you have never met a more rotten typist than myself and once upon a time oh so long ago i used to like e.e.cummings poetry and he never used caps and i thought that to be so cool, lowkey... unpretentious... semi 'stream of consciousness' (yes i know it is not really representative of that), whatever, i thought i'd finally take the time to tell peeps what up with that no caps thing

I had a pet peeve once. It died. High blood pressure, I think.

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Yonkers can have better TV reception.

Pet Peeves? Well here's mine:
What I extremely, positively hate the most is when someone posts something that has already been stated in somewhere else in the fora!!!!! Why don't people read before they post?!?!?!!!!!?????

----------------------
Advance notice: disectamac's beheading is scheduled for 8pm today right after dinner.

Mine is when people post a problem, then finish it off with "Help!", "Help Me Please!", "Please Help!", etc. Do they really think that nobody would answer unless they cry out for help? Why else would they be posting, other than asking for help? This is so repetitively, recursively, redundant (get it?) that it makes me crazy. It really doesn't happen some much here, but at MacFixIt, it is epidemic.

Of course, if this were worst thing that I ever had to deal with life would be pretty good.

wlonh and disectamac, Those are both really annoying pet peeves but mine is even worse. I hate it when people post things that have already been posted in the forums.

wlonh and disectamac said their pet peeves were people whom post the same thing that had been posted before. After these posts, Blizaine then said his pet peeve is people whom post the same thing that had been posted before. His "worse" pet peeve is exactly that of wlonh and disectamac, thus satirizing their pet peeves.

I hope this helps, but I think I've taken the wittiness out of the jest.

My pet peeve is people posting things that have already been posted. I mean, if something has already been posted it's already there. There is no point to post anything that's already been posted, because it's posted already. If you post something that's been posted, it's redundant ..... again. Help me please!!

here's one of my favorites: you're at a party, you've got your coat on, you're standing at the front door halfway out onto the porch, you've just finished saying "GOODBYE!" really loudly to nearly the whole room, and there's always one person who's just gotta ask, "You takin' off?"

My pet peeve are topics that are extremely general, or don't really relate to the question (ie. "G4 problems" or "CD Burning"). Why not "G4 crashes at startup" or "Which CDR drive for a G4"?

I find it odd that you guys all hate multiple posts about the same subject... I mean, think about it. It's usually newbies who do that. HEY! YOU MUST HATE NEWBIES! OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

Oh, an easy one

Women who wear their hair TOO short, and tatoos or unusual piercings associated with either gender. As to "blues' point, I would never be so indelicate as to comment on someones personal choice right there on the street. Rather, I reserve such critiques gently whispered in her ear in the throws of love making. I'm s-u-c-h a romantic

hey.........enough of that,

Thing that peeves me most is when my friends all buy PC's. Other pet peeves would have to be my computer crashing all the time and losing rugby games and my CD-R failing in the last 10 seconds of writing something!

Unprepared students, but even more students who don't care about academics; Bret Easton Ellis--I shudder at the thought that I'm going to have to teach one of this person's books in the fall ; people who think they're cool either because they're younger or because they're older--it takes no talent at all to be either one; people with car alarms set to go off when someone sneezes three blocks away; the mayor of my town, the school board of my town, and people who think local government is the best government. Have I left anything out? Oh yes, my aunt Sally
And that's true too.--Shakespeare, King Lear

Hrm THAT was pretty annoying..... grrr...

If I were to have a pet peeve, a good candidate would be threads that are locked down for no apparent reason.

Gregg,
The word association thread was a (fun) waste of server space. wlonh has every right to lock/delete the thread; even garrettnelson stated, "Wlonh, if you think this is a massive waste of server space (which it is ) feel free to delete it."

I can lay claim to the 455th and final post, though!

my pet peeve is when people finish using a program, then close the window but do not quit the application, and then leave the computer like this for someone else to come and start yet another program and do the same thing until all the apps on the computer are running , and something happens and then i got to fix it, and they say "hey, what's wrong with this thing?" ... or they double on a program that is already running, with no window open and they think nothing is happening.

My pet peeve is teenagers who act like growning up is so tough and that lives are so hard to manage with the peer pressure and crap. Thats a load of ******** , I mean as a teen I got great grades and worked my ass off and got a nice BMW and impressed girls with my success and ambition and I partied all the time everything was great. Everyone in school liked me, from jock to goth to nerd to preppy; i had great times with quite a diverse set of best buddies.

What the hell is so hard?

Sorry. No. You sing about raping girls around me, it makes you a dumbass, then a dead-ass.

In order from worst pet peeve for me

1. someone snapping gum for hours on end in the office!

2. someone talking on the cell phone in traffic, not paying attention, weaving - then getting mad at me for their idiotic driving!

3. someone who thinks porn is "healthy" and isn't a problem - but then avoids any further discussion when it might be his or her daughter that is being victimized.
Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog
very long. Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.

My pet peave is being peaved by one of my pet peaves, one of which is being peaved another of which is peaves in general as they tend to be pifflingly little things that are not worth getting peaved about.
Remember an iMac is not just for christmas, it's for life.
(well it might be if it was more upgradable).

My pet peave is being peaved, especially by pet peaves, one of which is being peaved by my pet peaves.

Remember an iMac is not just for Christmas, it should be foe life;
Although it's probably only good for the next six-to twelve months really (thanx to it's amazing upgradabilty & resultant futureproofing, still luv mine though) and then I guess you might as well put it in a brown paper bag and drown it in a local canal or river.
As I do with all Mammals I find in my Christmas stocking, although I have & would never waste the life of an endangered animal I have received for Christmas, I have to draw the line there, I have in fact never killed an unwanted Xmas gift that happened to be an endangered species; for no reason; I have always made good use of their fur &
eaten what's left over rest (I had a tasty last Christmas & I remember fondly that tasty Dodo I ate for Christmas as a child, although I've never been able to find one since, unfortunately.

BTW one of my real pet peaves is people who don't understand when people are just being polite, although these usually do not understand how to be polite themselves, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it!

Right, I'm politely pEEved off now, actually I think I'll add that to my list of pet pEEve's, That being pEEved by Wlonh about not spelling pEEving pEEved properly,
along with not being able to go out to dinner and order a nice barbecued dog or a stir-fried cat, & I'm supposed to be living in a sophisticated, open minded liberal society (where literacy is taken for granted.)
By the way I am dyslexic (one of the reason's that my typing and spelling is so bad), actually one of the reason's I got my iMac was to do dissertations for Uni on, as writing out essays was a nightmare, but this is not the reason I spelt peeved incorrectly, I'm just a dumbass, as you yanks (fond English term for American's, no offence intended!) Might/not say.
+ I've got to say it's not a word I come across or use much, I certainly don't ever remember being taught to spell it, if only I had known when I was a child at school I could of avoided this humiliation, god knows I get enough on-line in Q3.
P.S does anyone know if I'll ever be capable of a short post?
I've just made this one even longer with that last remark haven't I, Doh!
P.P.S I've got to get back to Dues-EX now, by the way if anyone's having problems with the framerate outdoors (you should be walking & crouching slowly anyway really) all you hat to do is alter some of the Graphics & Rave settings in the Dues-EX ini file.
