"The two girls were suspended from school for two days for being disruptive, not for the kiss, said the principal, Scott Pfeifer. There is no policy against kissing in the cafeteria."

What BS. I'd love to see him backpedalling now that it's hit the news.

Then again, lesbianism seems to be more acceptable to the general population than 2 guys together

You can't eat all those hamburgers, you hear me you ridiculous man?

It wasn't really a lesbian kiss... it was more just two straight girls making a statement. I think it's dumb that they were suspended... at the same time I think in all honesty if two straight people would have jumped on a table sand said, end thrid world debt, and made out for everyone they'd probably get a similar reaction... if not perhaps someone at that school should try it

Your point is...?

Yes 90% of guys would rather watch two girls getting it on than two guys.

The other 10% can go to Oxford Street.

Yes I understand the logic behind it completely, but the double standard still annoys me. Ahh well, what can ya do.

Hmm, no I disagree - nothing gets ratings like lesbians. In fact you can base an entire career off it. Observe:

So true. I don't know what it is - maybe because it's just more female to go around? Don't know.

Also, I bet 90% of the guys would rather watch a good old fashioned cat fight too.
Two gay guys fighting is pretty entertaining though - they get much louder and are quite theatrical.

what a world.

Dunno 'bout that. An ex-flatmate of mine was gay but he was a second dan black belt.

You can still be loud and theatrical AND have a black belt.

It's just not wise to make fun of a person with that exact combination.

Arn't blackbelts loud and theatrical to begin with? I guess the alternative lifestyle might psyche out an opponent, leaving them privy for the crotch kicking of a lifetime...

But yeah, girls should be allowed, no, ENCOURAGED to kiss at school. Public spectacles and memorable randomness are the glue that holds our nation's schools together. You throw away the pseudo-lesbian girl on girl action, you might as well throw away math and english too.

[edit: as soon as I posted I knew I had heard this exact schpeal before... I'm pretty sure Clinton said that exact sentence when he was debating while running for reelection]

same reason why some men can only watch "lesbian" porn.

no dicks to get in the way of their alpha male-ness.

Sure about that? A (gay) friend of mine got beaten up pretty violently by his roommate's (gay) brother and his boyfriend. I doubt many backhanded insults were passed during that fight.

An ex of mine was my school's top wrestler. And I don't really say anything terribly theatrical or queeny to the people I box with. In fact, saying anything at all during a fight can lose you big points.

Ahh, stereotypes, a wonderful thing.

LOL, reminds me of a Margaret Cho thing about why the guys are so disgusting in straight porn.

"The men in straight porn are the most disgusting men you'll ever see in your entire life. And I think the reason for that is the audience for straight porn is straight men, and straight men don't want to have any INKLING of a chance that they might be turned on by the GUY!!!! And accidentally have a homo-moment... so they have to go find the most disgusting; short hair on top, long hair on back; some guy with hair like Joe from facts of life."

I've had the pleasure to work with a large number of gay people in creative industries. Never seen violent behavior, thankfully.

Also, if people were more free from an emotional, etc. point of view, probably some form of bisexuality would be more than normal...

Ok - just "normal", then.

For example, personally I find lesbian love quite cute, and perfectly within the possibilities of the average woman. The same could probably be said about men, if they were not repressed by the "I must" paradigm so (pre-)dominant in today's neo-con world...
