Mirabilis has released a new version of their ICQ client for Mac OS. It sports a slightly new look as well as some new features. Users can now send SMS messages, send contacts, and the like. I have yet to test whether 3-way chatting works flawlessly.

All in all, this is a much needed upgrade for us Mac users. Thanks to the developers who pushed through with this client.

Well if you had been keeping up with the alpha releases, then you would know that the new look has been there since 2.3a and SMS & contact sending has been there since 2.1a.

As far as I know 3-way chatting works fine. I have used this extenisively to keep in touch with friends overseas.

But I must recommend all ICQ users to upgrade asap. Its a great new release.

Just interface changes. I could send it or you can get the latest version of versiontracker.com - ICQ X.
I have an old version for ICQ 2.01b.

Actually, I did try out one of the alpha releases. Too bad I never got to use it for long since there was a max. number of users who could log-on using that client.

Also, is it just me or does connecting to the ICQ servers now take longer with this client?

2.5b allows this, as did the alpha version 2.2a & 2.3a. Just go to www.icq.com/download/step-by-step-mac.html i think

I think the new features in the new ICQ are "nice," but I think the interface is plain ugly! I guess I will have to look into an interface patch and hope fo rthe best....

Personally I love the new ICQ, especially as I was banging my head over the old alpha where it got into login then quit as i was not a tester or something

Have noticed that on login with this version I have to repeatedly cancel and re-connect about five times in order to get on, anyone else have this problem?

btw these smily hings are kewl...

: ) : ( : o : D ; ) ; p
