I have 3 SATA-1 drives, full of data files used in my G5 and various nasty external FireWire cases.

They're all HFS+, originally formatted on a G5 PPC.

Will these just fit and work in a new Mac Pro, read/write without issues ?

Yes - I did this a few weeks ago.

You wont be able to use them as a boot drive until you change the Partition scheme to GUID Partition Map - which can only be done with a reformat.
