Has anyone found a good iPhone car solution? Right now I'm using the dock velcroed on to my dash and a charger AND auxilary cord coming out the back.. I have to use the touch screen to control my music and it can be quite dangerous sometimes... I want something that looks good, charges, displays the song title/artist and something to where you can use a remote/normal car controls to control the songs etc. I wish there was some way I could build in one of the iHome undercounter docks into my car because it does all of the above. What are ya'll doing?

Harman Kardon Drive+Play.
Available for $50± on Amazon.
Course, it's without the color screen of the new version, but who cares, it's the best solution for the money.
I've got one in my car and one I'm going to install in the wife's car soon.
Works with everything from 3G iPods to the iPhone.

Do you have to turn on airplane mode to use that with the FM transmitter? Anything I've seen/tried you either have to be in airplane mode, or get random interference, especially if you recieve a call while music is playing.
I'm in a crappy situation, I've got no tape deck or line in in my car, just a cd or the radio.

Provided you already have some sort of line-in solution, and they support your make of car, these are a great solution. Although they are somewhat expensive.
EDIT: They also sell input solutions for some model of cars as well.

Yep. You chose literally the only two car makes that don't have installation pictures. And IIRC those are the two newest models spec.dock released, so they must not have many installs yet.

I've read on VWVortex.com that the iPhone ( and new iPods ) will doc with VW's OEM iPod doc and work through the head unit but it won't charge. I wonder if other OEM car solutions suffer from the same issue.
Anyone know the details about what is different about the dock connector of the newer iPods and iPhone? Is there a possible adapter cable or replacement cable option for existing docks?
