You might get about $450 I would say for the iMac G4. The iMac G3 would be good for maybe $120, but I have seen many go for about $75. On the iMac G3, the FireWire doesn't have much to do with Tiger, it is the DVD-ROM drive. Give me a holler if you want to sell the G3 I may be interested.

I've seen quite a few on Ebay of late (233 & 266) starting at $20. Nobody bid on them. I have three that I am going to get rid of (and giveng another 333 to my mother) by installing OS 9.2.2, office and all the general stuff and simply giving them to locals who cannot afford computers. Sadly, as computers became a lot more common (1998 - present), older models are just not worth anything like they used to be. Just yesterday I took 17 beige macs to the dump (they all worked perfectly) as there is little use for them. The iMacs still have a little life in them.

Milo I would consider buying your iMac G3 if you want to sell it over the internet, I just bought a PSP here in the Marketplace forum.

The last iMac G3 had a 700MHz processor. They aren't worth a whole lot and are hard to find. You would pay more for a 700MHz eMac G4 but it would hold its value longer and be faster.

If it is a 12 incher it is a good trade, if it is a 15 incher it is a great trade. It would be great for internet movies music and all of the other stuff you want to do with it. Through in some RAM and it would excel at Final Cut Pro.

The imac G3's have artistic/creative/decorative value. I sold the shell of a imac snow in a garage sale for a buck. (Some cute artsy chic couldn't grab it fast enough). I can picture a night club filled with these things, with synced up mesmerizing graphics on all the displays. I'm gonna pack my imac ruby away in the attic for a few decades. It may now be worth a hill of beans for computing. But they have pop culture value.
