While I was using mail today I hit ⌘-i (command-i) and it popped up a get info window for the account I had selected.

I could see all the messages were still on the server and delete them from the info window. I'm not sure if it's well documented but you can also access get info by right-clicking the account as well.

Anyways, I am sure some other people might not have noticed it either!

You can also get info via the little gear wheel at the bottom of the "drawer" which is no longer a drawer in 10.4's mail

It is indeed a great feature, very useful for clearing down my home email account from work.

That's a cool feature, I found that out by using right clicking and selecting get info. Pretty cool.

Yea, handy. I use it to sort out the mail that gets delivered to two macs, that way the important mails get dloaded on both, while the junk and stuff I delete beforehand.

Hey... maybe I'm just daft, but how does one enter a 'command' symbol (⌘) to type it out (like above)? I don't see it in Key Caps...

I used Edit -> Special Characters to insert the correct character. It's funny that you quoted the (⌘) in your question. But like me, you probably just copied it :-)

What's interesting (and alarming) is that the key-combo isn't listed in the menus. So this feature will remain unknown to 99% of people until it's actually listed in one of the menus.

Weird stuff.

edit: my bad...it's listed in the context menu...but this is equally as bad as not having it listed in the menubar menus.

So, is this equivalent to a remote mail feature?

It would be great if Apple or some developer created a Menu Extra to access this feature.

You can also use the Unicode HTML entity "& #8984;" with no space = ⌘
Option is 8997 = ⌥
