Recently my itunes has started doing something a little strange. Random tracks are not being found, and a little question mark comes up against them in the main index. If I try to play it, it says the track is not found. If I manually go into the library and select the track it plays fine.

THere seems to be no particular reason for which tracks it's doing this with and it's becoming a pain to have to do this manually with each one. Is there a way to get itunes to reindex itself without reimporting everything and creating double entries?

Cheers,

J.

This happened to me a few years ago, and I couldn't figure out why.

The reindexing would be nice (along the lines of how InDesign will find where all files have been relocated if you show it where one of them is), but I don't think it exists..

Not to be paranoid, but I might back up the iTunes Library and XML file just in case this is the sign of a larger problem looming.
