I finally replaced my aging and, occasionally faulty, 2nd gen ipod with a 160Gb classic. Been experimenting with movies and tried to scroll the way i do with music, ie. click the centre button and scroll with the wheel, much faster than using the fast forward.

However, this doesn't seem to work. I even checked the manual and it says to do this:

"Skip to any point in a song or video: From the nowplaying sreen, press the center button and then scroll to any point in the song or video."

So, it should work but each time I touch the scroll wheel, the volume control comes up. This means that if I want to restart watching a movie I have to fast forward with the fast forward button and that takes ages.

Anyone else seen this issue or am I doing something wrong. The now playing window for a movie should just be the movie playing on the screen, right?

Cheers,

J.

As I said in my post, that's what I've done: Pressed the center button and then the scroll wheel and it switches to volume rather than forward.

Gah, something as simple as that. Thank you, was driving me nuts.

Cheers.
