I'm doing another Mac mod as a media center in the living room and would like to know what is the biggest DIMM the G3 will see if I were using only one slot.
I know the G3 will only see 1GB total, but not sure about the individual DIMM slots.

Here's hoping it'll see more than 256MB.

BTW, I'm putting a G3 board in an old 6100 case. Not a bad mod, except for the CPU/heatsink location in conjunction with the CD/DVD drive. Yikes.

regards,
MAJ

256MBs, sorry.

Good luck with that 6100 mod, it'd be cool to see it when you're done.

Not only is 256 MB the most a particular slot will ever see, but it's finicky about which 256 MB sticks you use -- if it has the wrong geometry, then you might only see 128 MB.
