So today I went over to a Mac persons house and helped them out with OS X. She's a 30 something divorcee getting her 2nd Ed masters, with a Bondi 333MHZ iMac with 10.3.5 and 9.2. I helped her out with things like cut and paste, how to delete things, how to save files to disks and such, how to attach emails, how to use word and apple works, power point. Then showed her how to use Safari and change stuff around. She took notes about everything. After about three hours she felt confident with everything and she offered to cut me a check for all the help i offered her. I declined.

Just another friendly mac guy helping a mac user. what other good deeds have you guys done.

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!

Just don't let her think you are free tech support for life. I hate that. Help someone once and they come crawling back every single time. And if I thought they were actually learning something, I'd feel better, but most of the time they just walk away when I'm helping.

(Sorry, sounds like you're help didn't go unappreciated, especially if she took notes.)

And here I had post ready to go asking him if he nailed her, and I backed out of it, 'cause I thought it was in bad taste.

(Y'think he nailed her?)

I remember hanging out in #Macintosh on the Undernet back in the 90s. I was helping a lady with her Mac that wouldn't seem to stay running for very long before it would crash. She'd get on, only to ping out shortly afterward.

Then she joined the channel the last time, and I actually noticed the IP she was using. The gal was using the same local ISP as I was.

So I sent her a message real quick for her phone #. Of course she was kinda iffy about that. A lady op that had known me for a few years informed her I was harmless.

Anyhow I ended up on the phone with her, asked her if she had any disk repair programs. She did not.

I ended up going over to her house about 20 minutes later with my Norton's disk (Back in 96 Nortons actually worked).

I walked into her house to find two VERY attractive ladies sitting on the couch giggling. They were a bit older than me, I was 25 at the time, they were in their early 30s. Anyhow I ended up fixing her computer for her and she was grateful. She gave me a check for $70 for doing it all. Of course I couldn't accept it because I had such a fun time with the loons.

She said she'd have to take me out to dinner for doing it sometime then.

We ended up dating for about 4 months.. but it ended well. It wasn't really a relationship in the strictest sense. I think she was just looking for a younger boy toy and a little ego boost.

I still talk to her now and then when she gets online.

a Mini?

Oh dear. I am sure the girl wouldnt ask that question, because unless it actually was a Mini then she would be pretty bummed.

Helpful guy: "I am just really happy to help!"
Beeeeautiful Ladeee: "Oh. I mean. Wow.... you really have a tiny penis don't you?"

Because unlike all of you undersexed and subsequently sex-obssessed nerds, I am a decent person who just wants to help out... I'm not looking for sex, I'm hoping that I can find friends in college by being nice and helping people with their hardware.

Get your collective wankers out of the gutter.

Aww.

Look at the geek; can't get it on.

"It's okay, I just want to be friends..."

Yeah. I had that phase, too.

Hey, those are some of the best. I lived with a lady 17 years my senior for almost 2 years. Good times.

Lol .. does converting pc users to macs help? ... how about getting someone to look at ipods as a replacement for that dinky 256mb iriver he had put into his drawer .. banished to the dark land of the underpants?
