Holding C dont work.
Holding option dont work.

obvious question time!
1. is the keyboard plugged in properly?
2. does the C key work?
3. can the disc boot a machine?

Yes to all.
The mac has 2 HD's in os 9 it starts, but not in X.
also X key at start up does not work.
Any idea ?

What happens if you select the OS X system in startup disk in OS 9 (control panel)?

it starts in Open Firmware mode.
making reset-nvram and reset-all dont work, open firmware again.
Pressing X key, also goes to OF mode.
No os X acces, any idea ?

does the machine have a CPU upgrade card in it? some of those render keyboard shortcuts useless, i think? installed one for a friend once, and i'm sure the book said something along those lines.

I think your only option is to remove the OS X disk, put it in a Firewire case, and reinstall OS X.
