can't change hard drive name

or some reason I can't change the name of my hard drive. I click on the name to highlight it, but it won't highlight. It used to. What happend?

Do you have file sharing on? Do a Get Info on the hard drive and see if file sharing is active and deselect it.

No file sharing turned on.

The hard disk didn't have sharing enabled, but file sharing for the computer was on. Thanks.
