I tried to install 7.01 on my imac temp partition. I can choose it in the system startup panel but it doesnt' boot up from it, it reverts back to os 9.1 everytime.

any help?

You need a minimum system version to start up your computer. It depends on which revision of the iMac you are using, but is never less than 8.1 for an iMac.

Use vMac to emulate a Mac (yes emulate a MAC on a MAC)!

get it from http://www.bannister.org/software/index_emu.htm

You'll have to find the ROM and System disks yourself, but it runs rather smoothly on any recent Mac.
