My help center, or mac help, when launched from the Help menu, does not load... instead it flashes for a millisecond and then loads Internet Explorer, and then IE yields an error. I don't get it!

I even clean installed 9.1 twice to no avail... same dang problem.

ALSO:
A little problem, but slightly annoying: in the Sound control panel, behind the "Main Volume" text it is bright white and everything else in the dialog is gray-ish. Kinda ticks me off. =)

Any solutions? Thanks!

just a few thoughts... perhaps try trashing the file Help Viewer from the help folder and/or the Apple Help Prefs folder in the preferences folder. both can get corrupted info, but i guess should have been replaced with a clean install. otherwise, maybe try reinstalling help from a new system cd.
a well designed kaleidoscope scheme or theme can correct glitches like that in the sound cp (i haven't seen it yet since i never go without one).

oops... meant Help Center as the file to trash rather than Help Viewer (the app, don't delete! ). Help Center just stores the current info for startup settings for Help Viewer. really need to register to enable editing...
