i'm going to be adding an additional 256MB of RAM to my B&W G3/350 this week and for various reasons i'd like it to be PC133 RAM (so i can use it in my G4 or PC later if required).

what i'd like to know is, will PC133 RAM work in a G3/350? i know it will be limited to the speed of the rest of my RAM (2-2-2 PC100), but will it actually work? i'd really rather not purchase any more PC100 SDRAM.

thanks,

- j

Yeah, it will work fine.
You can use ram that is as fast or faster then what your comp wants.

You could, and most likely it would work, though it is not really recommended. It is possible that you could experience some stability problems. RAM is not really designed to be backwards compatible.

The B&W rev.1s could be a little unstable with mixed RAM so I'd advise you to use all PC-133 and not mix it with PC-100.

I've had 256mb of PC 133 in my Rev 2 G3 350 for about 3 weeks now with no stability problems. It is mixed with the 64mb and 128mb stock from Apple. Go for it!
