Hey, Well I have over 600 songs on my computer, and I was wondering if it would be possible to burn the songs on a blank DVD-R using toast..
if so, how would i do this?
thank you.

Launch Toast. Drag iTunes music library (or the library for whatever else program you use, if it's not iTunes) to the Toast window. Press Burn. Put in blank DVD. Press Burn. Wait. Done.

Or you could just simply do it in iTunes directly. Just choose Data CD or DVD as the burn format in iTunes preferences. If your collection won't fit on one CD or DVD, iTunes will automatically span it to another CD or DVD.

Don't do it with iTunes I recently tried this and the burned DVD doesn't work with OS X it won't read the DVDat all. I guess I could have done something wrong but ironicly the DVD plays fine in Windows XP. It did a iso. disk image and it doesn't recognize it. I would do it though toast since you have more control.

Until you try and figure out what's wrong, quit spreading FUD please...

I backed up my iTunes Library using iTunes. I did it all at once, one disc after the other. It spanned 3 DVD's and 3 CD's (since using another DVD for the remainder was a waste). Typically easy and worked fine.

Hey it's not FUD there are alot of incompatibilities with the superdrive. Just letting him know to be careful, no one is forcing him to take my advice. I recently did this though iTunes and the Finder won't recognize the DVD at all, that's a fact. It probably will work for him but it's worth knowing the posobilities before wasting media.
