If this is old news, then just ignore this, but I found something I think is really cool here.

Since the iPod software update, whenever the headphones come unplugged it is automatically put on pause. It's perfect for when the plug comes loose while riding my bike. Anyone else notice this?

Noticed this the other day with my new iPod Photo. Along the same line, when you plug headphones into a sleeping iPod, it now comes on. Nifty indeed.

It's been standard on recent iPods and Minis.

Yeah, this has come up and been discussed before. However, this is such a great feature, I hope everyone knows about it. Apple has my deep thanks for adding this feature.

Yep! I just got my first iPod, and went to put it in the Dock after listening to headphones. Oops! I forgot to pause the music!

But my iPod was way ahead of me Auto-pause is one of those little touches that Apple is best ast. Features that don't make a bullet-list in a brochure, but quietly make your life a tiny bit easier. OS X is full of that kind of thing.

Also, I like how the backlight comes on when you plug your headphones IN (or when you toggle Hold off).
