LG has released images showing off the
G3 smartphone inside a new case, ahead of its expected launch on
May 27th. The specifications of the device have also been revealed, with photographs claimed to be from a "secret" pre-announcement event for a Korean retailer confirming the LG flagship will ship with a 5.5-inch 1,440x2,560-resolution display.
The QuickCircle case is a folder-style covering that lets users see through a circular window to the phone screen when closed. Users will be able to check the time, send text messages, take photographs, and read other notifications through the window, with LG promising to release an SDK next month for developers to customize their apps for the case.

Aside from confirming the high-resolution display, the party also revealed other details that have been previously rumored,
reports Phone Arena. The G3 will have a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and will run Android 4.4. The rear 13-megapixel camera has Optical Image Stabilization+, the front has a 2.1-megapixel version, with the smartphone also having LTE-Advanced connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a 3,000mAh battery. Despite the size of the display being 5.5 inches, the physical size of the G3 will apparently be similar to the Sony Xperia Z2, a device with a 5.2-inch screen.
