I'm doing some work as a contractor for a company and they have a specific set of fonts in their styleguide that are required for this project. But opening the font folder where they store the fonts produces this:

Uh, what are these? Font Book and Font Agent Pro don't recognize them, so are they actually fonts that can be used on my Macbook Pro (Leopard, if it's important).

TIA.

As there's some sort of reward for those helping themselves (free beer, perhaps?), doing some research this afternoon reveals these files (.pfb, .pfm, .inf) to be the components that make up a Windows Type 1 font. Using a tool like TransType or FontForge will change them into TrueType or OpenType fonts that can be used in OS X.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled internet.
