I cleaned up my Contacts on my MBA (10.9.5) the other day, getting rid of old & useless contacts, thinking the edits would automatically show up on my iPhone5 (7.1.2), but it didn't happen. Not only that, but my phone replaced all the deleted info back to the MBA, leaving me back at square one.

Given that it's way simpler to delete contacts on the laptop, that's what I would prefer to do, and then have the changes show up on my phone.

Can this be done, or am I doomed to spending hours working through the contact list on the damn phone?

Try signing out of iCloud on the phone, make the changes on your MBA, and then sign back in to iCloud on the phone.

Well, I've borked something, & now the MBA and iCloud have the edited version of Contacts, but the iPhone has NO contacts, and doesn't seem to want to get any from either MBA or the cloud.

Grr.

I've lost track of the things I've tried to get my contacts to show up on my phone, but there's obviously something that I haven't tried yet because I STILL HAVE NO EFFING CONTACTS ON MY PHONE...



What's a guy to do?

Okay, done.

An upgrade to 9.0.1 brought everything back. Whew.
