This is crazy, and I may have fixed it in the past but forgotten what I did...

My Powerbook is fine, running 8.5.1 for a long time now.
BUT...
My desktop unit newly updated to 9, and an iMac I set up for a friend running 8.6 have a dialog box on startup that says "To run an application via AOL you must sign on first.." but if you set TCP to AOL enhanced link so it won't show up again, you get the AOL link dialog box that says "click now to activate AOL link" when you try to sign on! Catch 22. So what am I doing wrong? I've got to be forgetting something pretty basic, because the iMac is doing this 'who's on first' routine fresh out of the box!
Help!
