So, I noticed that DashboardClient was using almost 30% of my CPU every 5 or so seconds, even when I don't have Dashboard in the foreground. So, I hit F12 and noticed that the CPU spike coincides with the movie poster transition effect that the movie widget does. I removed this widget and the CPU no longer does this. So, my question is this...are all widgets always running in the background all the time, or is this unique to the movie widget? It seems like the movie widget should at least be smart enough not to do fancy movie poster transitions when the Dashboard isn't even the active app.

Just thought to add that I noticed the same problem on my MBP C2D 2.33. I kept noticing my fans coming on and narrowed it down to the movie widget...
