Anyway to have it so I can have a diffrent name on one of my Macs, using one .Mac account?

Right now both Mac show my name which is confusing in ichat, I know if i change the name in address book it changes but I have isync running so changes would be overwritten with each sync.

Seems stupid that in order to have a different screen name on my other computer I have to have a .Mac account for it also.

Umm, wouldn't it be easier to just create a free AIM name and use that instead on your other Mac? Same principle.

You need to set iChat on Mac #1 to show your name; however, on Mac #2 you need to "Get Info" on your new found AIM name and have it just use the AIM name, not your real name or whatever that may be in the "First/Last Name" boxes of the Get Info box.

Make sense? So on one computer you'll have your Mac name, on the other you'll have the AIM name.

Go Ricky, I tried to do that from both machines but GET INFO is always greyed out, can you walk me through how to do this if it is in fact possible.

Maybe "Get Info" was the wrong saying...

On the iChat Buddy List there is the "i" icon on the bottom of the list for "Show Buddy Info"...that's what you'll need to change what name shows on your machines.

Sorry.

You can't "Get Info" on yourself in iChat. Your name/screen name information is stored in Address Book. Change your information in there instead.

yes but if you are using isync to sync both MACs changing you address book name will only work until the next sync, then they will both be the same again, get it?
