looking at this 1 month old(bought it middle of August) 15" Aluminum Powerbook, the specs are as follows:

-15" Aluminum Powerbook G4
-1.5 GHZ
-1GB RAM
-128MB Graphics Memory Card
-80GB Ultra ATA drive @ 5400 RPM
-Superdrive (DVD-R, CD-RW)
-Airport Extreme Card
-Backlit Keyboard

The laptop is barley one month old,and in absolute pristine condition, not one flaw on it. The student who owns it bought it right before his freshman year in college started, but it turns out that half the classes he has bans laptops from the classroom, so hes getting rid of it. It has never even been traveled with, it stayed on his desk for that one month. What should I be looking to pay for a powerbook like this? He doesnt have the Applecare, just the regular warranty you get when you order it.

Prices anyone?

Basically figure out what it would cost new from the online Apple Store with an ed. discount, then knock off $200 or so...should be a good deal for somebody.

Sounds kinda fishy to me (but then I always think that). Can you get him to provide you with some pics ? So that you can see the machine, and the condition it is in ?

I just don't understand why anyone would sell an awesome machine like that 1 month after getting it. Even if it is banned from many classes, you can still use it for many other things ...

i'm just curious why him and/or his parents didn't know about the laptop ban before throwing down $3000. that's weird.
