I've got a 1st gen 17" PB (1 ghz) with a gig of memory and a 60-gig drive. Have no idea what's it worth but am thinking about selling and looking at the latest and greatest. Has 18 months of Applecare *and* CompUSA Tab left on it.
What's it worth?

I don't know what it's worth. I'm giving mine to a cousin. To be frank, I'm Ronnie and drunk actually, it's just as fast as my new 12" in just about everything but rendering in Photoshop and iMovie.

I have a revA PB17, and I decided to upgrade the HD and go to 2 GB RAM rather than upgrade the machine. The 1GHz CPU was not the major bottleneck in most of my work, but the 4200 rpm HD was.

I've been sitting tight on my rev. A 17" as well with plans to upgrade the memory and HD in the near future.
I'm hopeful that I'll be able to take advantage of a 7200rpm drive when they become commonplace in the market.

I have decided to stick with my 1GHZ until a G5 Powerbook is out. And even then i am going to keep it for another three months so that I am sure that the one i buy has no little hick ups or whatever.
At the time i decide to sell my computer I will dothat overseas in Europe where the prices paid for it tend to be higher. At this moment a first series 17 inch still gives you about EUR1400-1500. And with the current exchange rate that is almost USD1800-1900.
