I just opened up a .psd file, a bunch of logo's in one file as it goes.

What caught my attention is that 20 or so of the layers are named "Vector Smart Object", although they are not showing up as smart objects. ( Photoshop CS ).

I know that the guy that sent me the file has used the logo's already when designing a demo, would this be symptomatic of someone using a version of Photoshop that doesn't support smart objects to save the file?

( I have tried importing a smart object from Illustrator into the offending .psd, it made a smart object automatically )
