Hey,
I have an iMac 2.4ghz 4gb ram (Aluminium desgin) and today I put Microsoft Office 2008 on it. I took it from a portable pen drive that my mum sent down for me (have a unlimited style copy at home so no illegalness), anyway everytime I start the app it immediatly dissapear and reports an error.
Could anyone help? Need help a.s.a.p as I need this for uni.
Thanks.

Is it installed, or just copied, maybe that's the problem.
OS ?
Perhaps you're using an old incompatible version of Mac OS ?

Hey,
It's a copied version running the latest software for Office and Mac OSX. I also have tried to install it but it crashes at the end. Have tried it on my friends brand new Macbook and it works fine.
Hope this helps.

Don't try to open it after installing. Instead, download the latest updates and apply them in order (again, without opening any other office app in between updates).
Go to this page: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.mspx
Scroll to the bottom and you'll see a link for Office 2008. Click it and you'll see the downloads.

I have found MS Ofice to be one of the few apps that rarely objects to just being drag copied to a new volume. Must be to do with MS's non standard approach to where application support files go.
However, sometimes things can go all runny. I agree, running updaters from the MS site would be a good start.
