Can someone help me out on file recovery? I lost an important paper, and I don't have norton.!is there free software i can use, or ever shareware. (i'm willin to pay a small sum)

Your most likely out of luck. Aladdinsys rewind, or nortons's unerase would only help if there installed.

Norton System works was released recently and I think it's really worth having. It has a file recovery feature available.

I would avoid using your computer much untill you can get a good recovery tool - your HD may overwrite the area that your paper was stored on if you do.
