I just about managed to connect my 350iMac and the old 7600 and now somebody donated a MacIICX harddrive. What can I do with it. There's no monitor with it. What would be the best way to test it? I don't dare to just hook it up to the 7600's 17inch studio display.
(actually, I did try but there where some incompatabilities)
Also because I'm really not very clever with these things. But if anybody has a suggestion how to put an old Mac to good use, I'd be happy to know.

The best thing to do would be to run by here: http://www.euronet.nl/users/mvdk/system_6_heaven.html
Have to thank Woz for this link.

They have d/l links to the full System 6 software (which is freely downloadable from Apple). It sounds kind of archaic but System 6 was the most stable and fast MacOS at the time, with a IIcx or other 68k mac, it makes for a killer word processing or light net browsing machine.

As for a monitor, just try checking out Shreve, Sun Remarketing or MacResQ and see what RGB monitors they have.

And be sure not to throw it out, it's one of the macs that has the signatures of the mac team etched into the case.
