Price: $2500 (lowered from $2800)

I love my my Dual 2 Ghz G5 PowerMac, but for how much I use it, this machine is just too much horsepower for me. I am quite sure whatever machine I downgrade to will be considerably slower.

I have used this machine primarily for personal use with Photoshop CS and Final Cut Pro. Here is the configuration:

proc: Dual 2 Ghz G5
ram: 2.5 gigs
hd: 250 gig serial ata
wireless: internal bluetooth module
video: ATI radeon 9600 Pro w/64 mb ram
2+ years of Applecare
plus all the other standard features

The ram is 512 default from Apple along with an extra 2 gigs from Ramjet. That means there are still two more memory slots available for upgrade (6 of 8 slots used).

The Superdrive is the 4x version, not the revB 8x.

Computer will be returned to factory condition and all software updates applied. Any further customizations can be worked out.

I just checked the price on this exact same equipment brand new (8x burner instead of 4x), and the total comes to $3337. Everything is in pristine condition, except the keyboard. I've never even used the mouse. Taking into account usage and a bit of depreciation, I would be willing to take reasonable offers around $2500. Preference and discount will be given to those around the Boston area, as it would make for the smoothest transaction.

I have recently purchased a 12" PowerBook on this forum, so have one reference I can give if needed. I also have many great transactions on the Buy/Sell forum at FredMiranda.com. If references are needed, I can give links to threads concerning past transactions.

If interested, please respond to the thread and send an email to drgandy at mit dot edu (home) and david dot gandy at fmr dot com (work).

Thanks,
-David Gandy

I am located in Boston, but am willing to ship elsewhere. I have original packaging, and I believe I have the receipts as well (certainly the Applecare info).

Shipping costs would be covered by the buyer.

Looks like for some reason, my work email is getting blocked from here. Very odd. I didn't get your response, dabigdawg. Can you resend it to drgandy at mit dot edu?

Very odd...
