I seem to be constantly searching for the perfect balance of performance, comfort and price. I've seen earbuds ranging from $10 to over a couple hundred. How much did you shell out and how happy were you with what you got?

I got Bose Triports. They are very nice. Bang & Olfsen make some nice ones too.

I dunno, with audio, I'd always spend with priority on sound quality.

I'm looking at Sennheiser CX300 in-ears - they're probably the maximum I'd be prepared to spend, as I don't actually use the iPod on headphones much.

They're a bit weak in the mids, but quite pleasing.

I have three quality sets of headphones (Etymotic ER6i, Shure E3c and Bose noise canceling big airplane ones) plus 3-4 cheaper ones (Sony ER71, Nike running ones, etc...) plus at least 5-6 of the ipod ones (I have 10 or more ipods).

Maybe I need to slow down. But I like iPods...

i'd say the Senheisser PX100 great cans for a good price, say $38-$50...

heard great things, great sound... comfy... comes now in white too.
(the PX200s are closed headphones, but unfortunately def don't sound as nice)

personally, i'm a porta pro fan, but its more of a style choice , and like the bass...
got the Bang & Olufsen A8 s for Xmas, sweet stylin , personally comfy, but def tinny compared to my portas, but of course, thier earphones so...
