Altec Lansing FX6021. They are discontinued but you can probably still find a pair somewhere to buy.

Down in the basement I have a nice little diagnostics center.

Just picked up that acer 20" for 190 bucks, same native resolution as a cinema.

Best PC down there is a dimension 4300 with a 1.6 Ghz p4, I am going to pick up a dual 2.8 Xeon Precision for chump change one of these days.

Dual 2.0, 2Gb, 500Gb.
I miss the days of the G5 and XPS Pentium 4 running side by side as high-end machines.

Maybe so, I pretty much roll with whatever newegg gives me.

I spent only 100 bucks on an acer a month ago, it's a 20" widescreen too, but the aspect ratio is just terrible, it's super wide, kind of pathetic.

Yeah 16:9 can be way too much scrolling on a smaller monitor. I don't like my 16:9 22" monitor when I'm editing video. It gets a bit cramped.

Yup, she runs great, no problems at all. I have the Apple display connector to VGA input, into the VGA input on the sony monitor, but no ADB mouse or keyboard, I guess I gotta get on ebay with like 15 bucks.

Not necessarily—some countries (like India) have half-hour offsets from the ‘regular’ countries. The top clock appears to be 35 minutes ahead, though, rather than 30.

Yep, it's the Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro - works fine, though it's not as good as the one in my MBP.

I'm loving the Eizo, but in some ways it's a step down from the 30" ACD:
- getting the bloody thing level if I've moved it around
- it wobbles when I type (partly a table issue, but it wasn't a problem with the ACD)
- it's not as easy to move it around so that it's pointing at the sofa (it gets used as a telly, too) - the ACD slid happily
- it's nowhere near as pretty
- the OSD interface is a shocker. It's nigh on impossible to be sure you're pressing the right button until you're up close, too - engraved black plastic is hard to read
- it's noisier than the ACD (gentle fan noise is still noise)
- it cost a heap

Absolutely everything else about it is beautiful, though. It's worth the heap it cost, and it's going to save me a heap of faff when it comes to having things printed. The picture quality is stunning.

Will go and have a play with the k/b you mentioned, but unless I can easily get a version with the American-style Enter key it'll have to wait for now (the UK k/bs have awful narrow things that I can't get used to).

Finally had a chance to take a shot of the setup at school! I drilled an iScrew (Eye-screw) into the ground and used a full sized master lock, and wrapped a bike cable around the Mac Pro for security.

Mac Pro and 2.6Ghz Macbook Pro

The dell display is a 30", it's pretty nice. Height adjustment, SD card slot, 4 USB ports, Dual DVI-D, VGA, Progressive Scan, 2 HDMI, and a DisplayPort. However, when I go back to my 20" ACD at home, whatever color spec that display has just looks better.
