Check this out! This is the coolest Apple collectable I've ever come across. It's a toy Apple computer! It's doll-sized and the monitor, keyboard and mouse actually work! You can see it here:

How does it display three different screens? Is it just 3 different patterns on a mono (non dot matrix) LCD?

Actually, it'd be more than three possible screens because the report is "written" progressively (couple lines at a time) by the keyboard independently of the Big Dipper graphic which has a few more stars added to it everytime the mouse is clicked. Here's a couple of shots of the screen:
