I would like to back up the files on my PB 17? It comes with a superdrive so I figure there must be a way to easily back up the files? Is there a way to just back up the non-OS assosicated files in a way that would restore properly after reinstalling the Apple software? Should I buy specific software for this?

Thanks, Bob

I heard that Restrospect www.dantz.com is pretty good though I've never used myself. Give it a try!

Not sure Retrospect is a good idea, its 129 bucks. You can get back up on .Mac and all of .Mac is 99 bucks.

I used .Mac's backup and backed up basic stuff like address book to iDisk, heavy files to external firewire drive and cut DVDs on the superdrive as well.
