Recently my g/f just got a 12" Rev. B PB. I noticed that the power adapter output of the 12" is: 24V, 1.875A. My 17"PB output is 24.5, 2.65A.

Do you think it's a bad idea if I use the power adapter of the 17" PB on the 12" PB and vice versa?

Probably not a good idea to plug the 12" power supply in to the 17" It may not be able to deliver enough current to fully charge the battery at best and might permanently mess up the batteries abilty ot take a charge.

On the other hand doing the reverse "might" be ok since it should be more than powerful enough. But I would not do it on my $1800 powerbook

You can use the one that came with the 17" on the 12" just fine (all the "extra" powerbricks you can buy in the store are 65watt like the one that came with your 17".)

You can probably charge the 17" with the one that came with the 12" but I wouldn't run it off of it. I have heard stories of 45watt adapters getting very hot and failing when asked to power the later 15" and 17" models.

Thank you all...I guess I will just have to label everything so that I don't accidentally plug in the wrong one...just to be safe!
