Maybe this is old news - I knew that you could buy mac mini's at some Best Buys - but in logging on to their website this evening and searching available laptops - they had several entries for iBooks (12 and 14") Powerbooks - 12, 15 and 17' as well as PB Pros. The Pros and a 17" were the only thing the actually listed as being in stock. Prices were in-line with the Apple Store -
I just didn't know they were carrying Apple computers again.
Oops - a check of the rest of their site shows that you can also order Power Macs (2.0 and 2.3) and both version of the Intel iMac.
Crazy.

Not in the slightest news. BB has been selling Macs for a couple of years now, though mostly only Mac Minis and laptops in-store.

I think they meant to say Macbook Pro.
Buying a Mac from Best Buy might be nice if you have their store credit card. They often have 0% financing for a year or more.

They also allow you to open and inspect screen for defects!
Also Costco sells Ipods and give you a swap out if it needs service within 2 years!

Also reward zone is totally worth the ten extra dollars when you are spending 2500 bucks.
But I think if the jerk Best Buy employee who once smugly told me "We don't sell Apple products at Best Buy and we never will".

paying taxes really kills the prospect of getting a deal of anything mac from best buy. the reward zone program gives you 3% back, but tax is often much higher (ie - 8% for me)
with places like amazon.com that gives you a $150 rebate with free shipping and no tax, i don't know why people want to buy from best buy.
