I hope Matt can find the time to chime in every now and then with future updates....

Even better, it's now on SourceForge!

https://sourceforge.net/projects/heat-meteo/

The only release I have up is the last beta I posted, but hopefully this system will cause 8 million other good things to happen, like a central place for bug reports to be posted and cvs access for developers.

Matt:

What about the whole icon set? Some late added ones from Adam aren't included in the latest beta? Can we get those?

Thanks.

I never received any updated images from Adam. I know he was working on changing them from .tiff to .png or .icns, but I haven't heard from him in a while. Probably been busy, which is understandable.

Really? I could have sworn that in the "Improving Meteo" thread he said he had sent you the "Wind" icon that Meteo is missing...hmm, at any rate...I'll see if he can send that over.

Thanks.

Alright, I got some productive work done tonight, such as updating the cvs tree on source forge for other developer to look at (just ignore the Meteo 1.2.7 b2 branch - I'm still getting use to CVS), adding Adam's wind icons, fixing a problem with NWS and searching for cities, and releasing 1.2.7 b3. If all goes well, 1.2.7 final should be out before Easter.

I've been using WeatherManX, a darn nice little program, but its latest version is crashy and buggy and got me searching for answers.

Found all these 'suggestion' threads for Meteo very cool! I liked observing the growth of this little free app and really appreciate all the refining that's gone into it.

I really would love to see simultaneous multiple cities, though. Matt said in another thread that its implementation would end up crowding the menu bar, which i understand; however, by using a 'menu-only' abbreviation for my three observed cities I can see the weather in Seattle, Los Angeles, and Grand Rapids, MI by one quick glance:

GR 40 SEA 60 LA 80

(They tend to stay pretty consistently about 20 degrees apart - which makes me wonder why I'm in the low one)

I'd really love to see this implemented in Meteorologist - I'd probably kick my registered WeathermanX to the curb for this free little wonder.

1.2.6 did not get me any data on 10.2.5.

Upgrading to 1.2.7 solved the problem. This is a very, very cool and useful little program.

I'm assuming you are talking about "WeatherManX Menubar" the menu bar component of WeatherManX Extras. If so then please e-mail me your bug report. Since release of version 3.2.1 I have had zero bug reports. The exception to this is if you are running version 10.1.x of the OS. If this is the case, I'm working on some fixes to make WMX Menubar more stable on that version of the OS but I will stop supporting 10.1.x all together when version 10.3 comes out.

If you are taking about WeatherManX the application the most recent version 1.8b5 then you are correct that some users are experiencing unexpected crashes. Many times this is resolved by deleting your preferences file and starting over. But this is the issue with it being beta and I'm activly working on the problem.

Of course Meteo is cool so if you want to switch no prob just hate to loose someone who's paid for the program.

Now back to your regularly scheduled forum.

Yeah, it's ASM by Frank V., an excellent utility for hiding dock when using specific apps. Perfect for Photoshop, FCP, etc
