Almost seven hours on one battery. Oh, it's a Pismo.

I finally ordered the "new" standard Pismo bat from FastMac. The timer (in Jaguar) says 7 hr., and I got about 6.75 hours out of it. Amazing. I can't imagine what the "high capacity" battery would give.

They make high capacity batteries for current laptops too. Pismos aren't exactly slim by today's standards either, so FastMac has a lot of space to work with.

I run the dual batteries on my Pismo and it rocks!! I get between 8 and 12 hours. I took this computer to some rural parts of India where access to power was not reliable and I never got caught with a dead battery.

I always enjoyed the look and feel of the Pismo. The abaility to have TWO batteries would be wonderful in this world, but thatsnot the design that Apple's gone with.
Plus the market has all gone super slim super light, so the Pismo design and form probably wouldn't market well.
Our best hope for a super long battery life Powerbook would be for a solid state/ super small portable. Which would be nice in many ways, though probably wouldn't grab very much of the market.

I'm envious. My Pismo won't put any juice its battery any more. 
Over the years I've tried a number of resets (PRAM, etc) but never found a fix (even when both of my batteries were young).. so I guess it's a hardware issue.
...unless any of you Pismo guys have a secret to share?

The PMU has probably karked it. Not uncommon on Pismo's.

Probably not the PMU, but the battery itself. They will only charge a certain number of times (which is why rebuilding doesn't work).
