Between November 3rd and the 9th, Target will offering "at least" $200 for a used iPad in decent condition, the retailer has announced. To qualify, an iPad must both power on and lack any display scratches. Trades must be conducted at
Target Mobility kiosks, and payment is being issued only in the form of gift cards.
The promotion may be extremely useful for owners of the original iPad or the iPad 2; in the case of the former, a 16GB Wi-Fi model is normally worth only $65 at Target. The company is presumably trying to spur sales of the iPad Air, which starts at $479 in its stores -- $20 less than what Apple charges. Gift cards from a trade-in can be used towards any item at Target.
