I s there a utility that will boost overall system volume in OS 9.x?

It seems that the Macintosh volume is permanently set at around 3.

BTW I don't mean for external speakers; I mean the internal pre-programmed volume limit that I can't seem to raise while listening on headphones to my favorite music DVD.

You mean to say that the Sound Control panel isn't working for you? It's been my experience that plugging headphones directly into a Mac gives just slightly loud sound at max volume.

Maybe you'd get better results from posting this in the Mac OS 9 fourm.
