Finally found something that Jaguar breaks... unfortunately, Lucent (Agere) has decided not to support OS X for their Orinoco Silver wireless networking cards.

Up through 10.1.5, I have been able to use a third party driver obtained from:

http://wirelessdriver.sourceforge.net/

to use the Orinoco in my laptop but the card is no longer recognized in Jag--well, actually Jag sees it is there but the option to turn it on is dimmed in Network system preference.

Has anyone found a workaround yet? (There are a couple of sets of instructions in the forum at the aforementioned site for fixes involving entry of instructions using the Terminal. Alas, I have been unable to get either to work.)

Thanks.

Marian
